Why WorkUndone.
Work Undone has been a lifetime in the making – sped up by how rapidly our work is changing and an increasingly inhumane approach to the workforce.
A few months ago, my husband put words to something I’d never named about myself: “You don’t answer the problem that was asked of you. You answer the problem you think they should have asked instead.” That’s the shortest version of why Work Undone exists.
Somewhere along the way, we let professional events become expensive, inefficient networking opportunities. I want people to network; we need networking. But I want attendees to leave with more than just a stack of business cards and a chance to break away from the daily grind.
I want attendees to leave with renewed enthusiasm for possibility. The energy to make change happen. And most importantly, with the confidence and skills to build a future we can get excited about.
WorkUndone will never be built the same way twice because things worth doing are worth curating. Reck. Rethink. Rebuild. The instructions are for me too.
About the Founder.
Calli Adamson Bakken has spent fifteen years questioning how work gets done – from the inside and out. She fell into HR by accident and, along the way, saw the rise and potential of widely accessible HR tech. She helped launch two startups focusing on employee strategy and well-being. This landed her in the event space, bringing DisruptHR back to Minneapolis in 2023.
Along with Work Undone, Calli has created Wiggle Work, turning one of the workforce’s most ignored problems – childcare – into a strategic advantage. She co-hosts the Work Sucks podcast with Toby Kheng, where the quiet parts of work are said out loud. She also consults with organizations ready to rethink their people strategy.
Work Undone is where all of it converges: the questioning, the evidence, the refusal to do the same thing twice. Whether she’s building a strategy or taking the mic, Calli brings both authenticity and action to every room.
